Through the autonomic nervous system, your body is constantly scanning for threat. When it senses danger, it mobilizes energy to respond.
When the threat passes, it’s meant to return you to a state of rest and safety.

Your nervous system is designed to respond to danger and then return you to safety.

Even when there is no real danger in your environment, your nervous system can continue operating from fight, flight, or freeze.
This keeps the body braced for survival and, over time, can impact digestion, hormones, energy, sleep, and emotional regulation.

Your body isn’t broken. It adapted to protect you. Now it’s asking for support so it can finally settle.

But until safety is felt in the body, your system will continue to prioritize protection over healing, performance, or change.
Stress is not just mental. It is physiological.
When your nervous system detects threat, real or perceived, it may shift into:

  • freeze or shutdown
  • constant low-grade activation
Over time, this impacts digestion, hormones, metabolism, immune function, energy, emotional regulation, and recovery.

These sessions build on your initial mapping and evolve as your system changes.
Sessions may include:
  • guided somatic regulation practices
  • nervous system repatterning
  • gentle movement and grounding
  • integration support for real-life stressors
  • expanding capacity without pushing or flooding

Do I need to talk about my trauma?

No. 
You do not need to retell your story or revisit painful memories.
Somatic coaching focuses on sensation, breath, grounding, and gentle movement.
You are always in control of what is shared.



How long do I need to be doing somatic sessions?

This is one of the most beautiful parts of somatic work. Somatics is not something you need to do forever or stay dependent on a practitioner for. The goal is embodiment.

Embodiment means:
  • your body knows how to regulate itself
  • you recognize stress responses as they arise
  • you have tools that work in real life
  • regulation becomes part of how you move, rest, eat, work, and connect
Once this stage is reached, somatic practices seamlessly become part of life. Most clients work with me for a defined container or package. Some feel complete. Others return during higher-stress seasons or life transitions.

The work is designed to give you your autonomy back, not create dependency.



How is this different from therapy?

Therapy often works top-down and focuses on thoughts, beliefs, and meaning.
Somatic coaching is bottom-up and works directly with nervous system states and body responses.
Therapy helps you understand why you feel the way you feel.
Somatic coaching helps your body stop reacting like the threat is still happening.
They are complementary, not interchangeable.
